Board of Supervisors
Sajid Ali Abbasi is Chairman of the Board of Supervisors for Afghanistan Commercial Bank. He has extensive experience in banking management and governance. Mr. Abbasi was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan Commercial Bank and served in various management capacities in banks in Afghanistan and elsewhere. He holds an economics degree from Government College in Pakistan.
Asad Abbas is an independent member of the Board of Supervisors. He has extensive banking experience and previously served as Executive Vice President and in other roles in banks in Pakistan and the United Kingdom with responsibilities in finance and auditing. He has experience with a chartered accounting firm in London. He holds diplomas from the Institute of Business Management in Karachi, and the University of Luton in the United Kingdom as well as various professional certificates. He is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountings in the United Kingdom.
Sayed Javed Andish is a member of the Board of Supervisors. He is currently Chairman of Karwan University and serves on the board of directors of the Afghanistan Private Universities Association. He is a successful businessman and entrepreneur with interests in education, banking, real estate, and consulting. He has managed over $100 million in projects for the the Afghan government, international donors and the private sector.
Samir Kumar Bhattacharyya is an independent member of the Board of Supervisors. He has broad experience in management and auditing positions in the banking sector primarily with the State Bank of India. He has also served as a board member for Nepal SBI Bank, SBI Mauritius, and Bank of Bhutan. Mr. Bhattacharyya holds post-graduate diploma in financial management and a master degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
