Biography

Allah Dad Noori is from the Cheshma-e-Sher area of Pul-e-Khumri district in Baghlan Province. He is recognized as the founder and former president of the Afghanistan Cricket Federation. Additionally, he captained the Afghanistan National Team from 1998 to 2004 and served as a leading fast bowler for the team.

After completing his high school studies at Wahdat-e-Islami High School in Malakand, Noori earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature. His most significant achievement is considered to be his pivotal role in the emergence of cricket in Afghanistan, as the sport has greatly benefited the country in various ways.

Cricket is currently the most popular sport in Afghanistan, boasting a large fan base. The positive involvement of Afghan youth in cricket is something Mr. Allah Dad Noori greatly admires, and he considers this engagement to be one of his major personal accomplishments for the country. In addition to cricket, Noori enjoys reading historical and religious books and is committed to serving his country through sports.

Mr. Allah Dad Noori has been honored as the "Father of Cricket" for his relentless efforts and dedication to Afghan cricket. He was also featured in a film titled "The Great Game," which depicts the introduction of cricket in Afghanistan. The film's mission was to symbolize a “one-man mission to pick up the bat and put down the gun.” Following the film's release, he received the “Brave Man” award, which turned out to be yet another significant achievement in his life.

Noori views his appointment as a board member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) as a valuable opportunity to apply his skills, experience, and understanding of Afghan cricket to contribute to its growth and development. He believes that his role on the board will positively impact the organization, given his knowledge of administrative and technical matters. He is committed to working hard to enhance the overall development of cricket in Afghanistan.
