Kunduz \u2013 May 09, 2026: The\r\nSpeenghar Region held their nerves to beat the Amo Region by 5 runs in a nail\r\nbiter earlier in the day to register their second victory of the event, whereas\r\nthe Band-e-Amir region have put on a terrific all-round display to dismantle\r\nthe Mis-e-Ainak Region by 8 wickets for their 3rd victory in the ongoing e&\r\nNational T20 Cup 2026, powered by SuperCola.<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The Amo Region opted to bowl\r\nfirst in the opening game of the day and bowled well to restrict the Speenghar\r\nRegion to an under-par score of 139\/8 runs in the first inning. Zubaid Akbari,\r\nthe skipper for the Speenghar Region, scored a solid knock of 64 runs off 39\r\nballs to hold the innings together. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The 140-run target, which seemed\r\nunder-par at first glance, turned out to be a tough task for the Amo Batters as\r\nthey failed to chase it down and fell short by 5 runs. Rohullah Arab (4\/14)\r\ncontinued to enjoy his form and registered a terrific four-wicket haul to grab\r\nthe Player of the Match award. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The afternoon encounter saw the\r\nBand-e-Amir Region facing the Mis-e-Ainak Region in the 14th match of the\r\nevent. The Mis-e-Ainak Region won the toss and opted to bat first, but came\r\nunder the pump in the first over, losing their first wicket. The wicket column\r\ncontinued to tick as the Band-e-Amir Region bowlers, led by Abdullah Ahmadzai\u2019s\r\n4\/33, stole the show in the first inning, as they didn\u2019t let the batters put a\r\nbig score on the board. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Said Khan (2\/15), Izharulhaq\r\nNaveed (2\/15), and Haqmal Arya (1\/24) were other contributors with the ball to\r\nrestrict the Mis-e-Ainak Region to 118\/10 runs in the first inning. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Usman Sadaat (51*), Mohammad\r\nHaroon (32), and Hazratullah Zazai (28) made light work of the chase as the top\r\nthree took the Band-e-Amir Region to a victory by 8 wickets with more than three\r\novers to spare. Abdullah Ahmadzai was awarded the Player of the Match for his\r\nterrific bowling figures. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

On Day 8 of the competitions, the\r\nBost Region will lock horns with the Amo Region in the morning, whereas the\r\nBand-e-Amir Region will face the Speenghar Region in the afternoon match of the\r\nday. <\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This event will feature\r\nfive regional teams competing in a round-robin format from May 17 to June 4 across\r\ntwo venues in Nangarhar province.<\/b><\/p>\r\n\r\n

The tournament\r\nwill kick off with the defending champions, Mis-e-Ainak Region, facing the\r\nBand-e-Amir Region on May 17 at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground. The\r\nother three participants, the Speenghar Region, Amo Region and the Bost Region,\r\nwill also be vying for the title. Each participating team will play six matches\r\nin the round-robin stage, and a total of 16 matches will be played over 14\r\ndays, with the final being scheduled for June 4.<\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This year's\r\ntournament will take place in two phases, with the Eid Ul Adha holidays in\r\nbetween. The pre-Eid phase will be held at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket\r\nGround from May 17 to 25. The post-Eid phase will also feature the Najibullah\r\nTaraki Cricket Ground, alongside the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground, from\r\nMay 30 to June 4. All matches at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground will\r\nbe broadcast live.<\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

This\r\ntournament will feature a majority of central and domestic double-contracted\r\nplayers, as well as outstanding domestic talents. This provides the Afghanistan\r\nCricket Board with an opportunity to offer valuable exposure and excellent\r\nplaying prospects for young and emerging cricketers.<\/o:p><\/font><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Etisalat has\r\nsecured the title sponsorship rights for the event and will promote their\r\ne& brand. Additionally, Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company has been\r\ngranted the \"powered by\" sponsorship rights as part of a long-term\r\nagreement. On the fifth day of the e&\r\nNational T20 Cup, Powered by SuperCola, two matches were played at the Kunduz\r\nCricket Ground. In the ninth match, Amo defeated Speenghar by 4 runs, and in\r\nthe tenth match, Band-e-Amir defeated Bost by 8 wickets.<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In the first match of the day, Speenghar\r\nwon the toss and chose to bowl first. Amo batted first and set a target of 164\r\nruns, losing 5 wickets in their 20 overs. Tariq Stanikzai scored 52, and Ejaz\r\nAhmad added 42. For Speenghar, Rohullah Arab bowled well and took 2 wickets.<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In pursuit of 164, Speenghar\r\nmanaged to score 159 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs,\r\nfalling short by 4 runs. Akbar Musazai top-scored with 73, and Mohammad Ishaq\r\nmade 35, but they could not reach Amo\u2019s target. For Amo, Sayed Jalal Hashimi\r\ntook 2 wickets and made an excellent effort in the final over to defend team\u2019s\r\ntotal.<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In the second match of the day,\r\nBand-e-Amir handed Bost a crushing 8-wicket defeat. Bost won the toss and chose\r\nto bat first. They set a target of 165 runs, losing 6 wickets in their 20\r\novers. Saif Nangyal made 49 runs, and Aziz Mikhail scored 42. For Band-e-Amir,\r\nLais Lawang took 2 wickets.<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Band-e-Amir successfully chased\r\ndown the 165-run target in the 16th over, losing 2 wickets. Hazratullah Zazai,\r\nthe captain, played a stunning knock of 48 balls, scoring a rapid century,\r\nincluding 11 sixes and 2 fours. His blistering innings led Band-e-Amir to an\r\n8-wicket victory over Bost.<\/o:p><\/p>\r\n\r\n

In the first match of the day, Amo won the toss and chose to bowl first.\r\nBand-e-Amir batted first and scored 140 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their\r\nallotted 20 overs.
