Biography of Mr. Naseeb Khan, Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Cricket Board

Naseeb Khan, born in 1989 in Zadran village of the Baraki Barak district in Logar province, is the current Chief Executive Officer of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB). Although he originally hails from the Shwak district in Paktia province, he currently resides in Logar.

Mr. Khan earned his Master of Science degree in Media and Mass Communication from the International Islamic University in Islamabad (IIUI). In addition to his academic achievements, he is an accomplished writer of short stories, having authored more than 100 fictional works that reflect the current circumstances in Afghanistan. His writings have been published in various magazines, newspapers, and online platforms.

Naseeb Khan was appointed as the CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board on September 20, 2021. In this role, he has focused on implementing necessary reforms within the organization. Early in his tenure, he took the initiative to increase match fees for domestic players impacted by the economic hardships faced during the COVID-shortened 2020-2021 domestic season.

Under his leadership, the ACB has made significant strides in restructuring the board and revising its policies to ensure greater transparency in organizational affairs. The domestic cricket framework has been revamped, and facilities have been enhanced, including the establishment of a High-Performance Center in Kabul.

Mr. Khan has also fostered strong relationships with the International Cricket Council (ICC) on cricket-related matters in Afghanistan and also maintained collaborative ties with other ICC member nations for bilateral commitments. The Player Pathway and National Selection policy were upgraded, which led to the emergence of numerous talented cricketers in the national team over the past few years, which has improved the senior team's performance on the global stage.

The organization led by Naseeb Khan has made extensive efforts to expand the game of cricket throughout Afghanistan by providing infrastructure improvements in Khost and Kandahar provinces and constructing and renovating cricket grounds and academies in various regions.

Mr. Naseeb Khan is committed to the development of cricket in Afghanistan, believing that the sport represents the "love of our people" and plays a crucial role in uniting the nation. He states, "Afghanistan cricket has experienced a rapid rise in the cricketing world, and the reason behind this success is the passion and dedication of Afghan players who have made the impossible possible."

He encourages the younger generation to approach every endeavor with sincerity, whether pursuing cricket or other professions. "The youth are the assets of this country. They need to channel their energy into positive pursuits, whether in sports, education, or other fields. If they work hard, they will surely reach great heights, which will contribute to the development of our beloved Afghanistan."
