The International Cricket Council is the global governing
body for the sport of cricket. As part of its ongoing efforts to maintain the
integrity, popularity, and public image of cricket, the ICC has adopted and
implemented a Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, the
"Code of Conduct". This Code serves two main purposes:
(a) It provides an effective means to discourage
participants from behaving improperly both on and off the field, and from
acting in ways that are against the Spirit of Cricket; and
(b) It establishes a fair and proportionate disciplinary
procedure to address any instances of improper conduct swiftly and with
certainty.
