HIGH PERFORMANCE CENTER
The National High-Performance Center aims to produce quality cricketers and train technical staff to meet the current and future challenges of international cricket.
BackHPC (High-Performance Center)
The High-Performance Center (HPC)
plays a vital role in the development of the team/players by providing them
with various training camps and skills development programs. The HPC is a
pathway for players to enhance their cricket development skills through a
systematic training program, both indoors and outdoors, under the guidance of
national and international coaches and analysts. The main aim of the HPC is to
produce quality cricketers and train technical staff to meet the current and
future challenges of international cricket.
The HPC provides the best
facilities to keep players physically and mentally fit and treat players' injuries.
The center is also responsible for providing technical staff to other
departments and developing the capacity of the current technical and newly
assigned staff based on need.
1.1 Main Objectives:
1.1.1
Bridging Domestic and
International Cricket:
The objective aims to establish a continuous transition between domestic and international cricket, with a primary focus on the development of domestic talents to peak at both national and domestic levels. The strategy aims to identify promising players through talent identification processes conducted during domestic elite tournaments, leveraging the expertise of the selection department. By fostering the growth of these talents, the goal is to create a pathway that ensures a smooth progression for players, enabling them to make significant contributions at the national and international stages. This strategic approach not only strengthens the talent pool but also aligns with the broader vision of enhancing Afghanistan's presence and competitiveness in the global cricketing arena.
1.1.2
Enhancing National Teams
and Central Contracted Players' Performance:
The objective is to improve the
performance of national teams and centrally contracted players through a
comprehensive approach that addresses strengths, weaknesses, fitness, and skill
enhancement. The HPC collaborates with national team technical staff to conduct
targeted assessments, tailored training programs, and continuous performance
evaluations. This strategic endeavor aims to create competitive, resilient, and
high-performing cricket teams that represent Afghanistan on the international
stage.
1.1.3
Promoting Regional Cricket:
Develop tangible plans and
programs to grow and excel in regional cricket in collaboration with Domestic
Cricket Departments. The HPC will design and implement initiatives tailored to
each region's needs and potential, including coaching programs and technical
staff. The goal is to create a strong foundation for regional cricket,
fostering a culture of excellence and producing skilled players. This vision is
to advance cricket across all regions, contributing to the overall growth and
competitiveness of Afghan cricket.
1.1.4
Talent Hunt:
In addition to the talents
identified during domestic tournaments by the selection committee, the High Performance
Center (HPC) undertakes a proactive Talent Hunting Initiative. This initiative
is designed to identify exceptional talents that may have been overlooked
during domestic tournaments or were unable to participate due to reasons such
as unavailability in the country or other factors, preventing them from coming
under the selection committee's radar. The HPC is tasked to develop these
talents, ensuring their skills are honed to their fullest potential.
Subsequently, these identified talents will be duly considered by the selection
committee for participation in domestic tournaments in accordance with their
developmental progress.
1.1.5
Plan and Execute Capacity
Building/Development/Enhancement Sessions and Camps:
The High-Performance Center (HPC)
shall take charge of planning and executing Capacity Building, Development, and
Enhancement Sessions or Camps. These sessions can be requisitioned by the selection
committee, Senior Technical Staff of National Teams, or Senior Technical
Experts of HPC. The HPC ensures that the requested training is planned,
arranged, and executed to the highest standards set forth by the ACB. The aim
is to elevate the skills and capabilities of participating individuals in alignment
with ACB's commitment to excellence and performance objectives.
1.1.6
Delivering Rehabilitation
and Fitness Facilities to Players:
The High-Performance Center (HPC)
shall establish and deliver holistic rehabilitation and fitness services
tailored specifically for players. The focus is on providing comprehensive
facilities, encompassing physical therapy, injury recovery programs, and
state-of-the-art fitness resources. The aim is to ensure that players receive
top-class support for their rehabilitation needs and maintain peak physical
condition through specialized fitness programs. This proactive approach
emphasizes the overall well-being and sustained performance of athletes within
a professional cricketing environment.
1.1.7
Developing Technical Staff
Capacity Building Programs:
This objective focuses on
developing specialized programs to enhance the capabilities of technical staff within
the cricketing ecosystem. Comprehensive programs cover areas such as skill
enhancement, strategic planning, modern coaching methodologies, and staying
up-to-date with the latest trends in cricket. Workshops, seminars, and hands-on
training sessions are used to empower technical staff with the knowledge and
skills needed to navigate the dynamic landscape of international cricket. The emphasis
is on fostering a continuous learning culture, ensuring that technical staff
members are equipped to contribute significantly to the success and development
of teams under the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
