Afghanistan Complete a 7-Wicket Victory to bag the series with one game to spare

Kabul – October 31, 2025: AfghanAtalan have produced yet another outstanding all-round performance to beat the hosts Zimbabwe by 7 wickets in the second T20I and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.

After being put into field first, AfghanAtalan have bowled extremely well to strike regularly and reduce the home side to 125/10 runs in the first inning. The skipper, Rashid Khan (3/9), despite hurting his finger while fielding a ball, was the pick of the Afghanistan bowlers with an impressive three-for; whereas Mujeeb Ur Rahman (2/26), enjoying his rich hot form, once again shone with the ball and picked up two wickets.

Abdullah Ahmadzai (2/28), Mohammad Nabi (1/20), and Fareed Ahmad (1/32) also chipped in crucial wickets as they helped the team to bundle the hosts out for 125/10 runs in the first inning.

In response, Afghanistan lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz (16) and Sediqullah Atal (8) early, but Darwish Rasooli (17) and then Azmatullah Omarzai (25*) backed up well Ibrahim Zadran (57*), who stood tall and scored his second successive half-century and 12th overall in T20Is to take Afghanistan home by 7 wickets.

Rashid Khan (3/9), who had bowled terrifically, was awarded the Player of the Match. However, he dedicated his PoTM award and the prize to Abdullah Ahmadzai, who also bowled exceptionally well and contributed to the winning cause.

With two back-to-back victories in the first two games, AfghanAtalan have already bagged the three-match series, with the final match of the series being scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 2, at the same venue.
