Kabul – June 27, 2026: The Afghanistan Cricket Board confirms it will host the Uzbekistan National Team for a one-off T20 match on July 10 in Khost province, during the 11th edition of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by Super Cola.
The match is part of the Cricket Development Support Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) between the Afghanistan Cricket Board and the Cricket
Federation of Uzbekistan, which was signed in December of last year.
The game is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM (AFT) on July 10 at the
Rahmat Wali Masroori Cricket Ground in Khost province. The Afghan XI will face
the visiting Uzbek side in this friendly T20 match, which will also be
broadcast live on various linear and digital platforms across Afghanistan and
worldwide.
ACB CEO Mr. Naseeb Khan stated, "The ACB remains committed to
supporting emerging cricket nations like Uzbekistan and is prepared to extend
similar support to other nations seeking to promote the sport. As part of this
commitment, the ACB has previously organized capacity-building programs and
training workshops for members of the Cricket Federation of Uzbekistan and
several of its players. Additionally, a number of Uzbek fast bowlers have had
the opportunity to train and enhance their skills through the ACB's specialized
Fast Bowling Camp last year."
He also added: "Uzbekistan has consistently maintained a friendly
policy towards Afghanistan, and in recent years, the two countries have further
strengthened their cooperation in the areas of healthcare, politics, and trade.
We believe that closer collaboration in the development and promotion of
cricket will further enhance and deepen the strong relationship between our two
nations."
