Sharjah, October 21, 2026: AfghanAtalan secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the third match of the ongoing Etisalat ACB ODI Tri-Nation Series 2026, powered by SuperCola, to book their place in the final, where they will face Zimbabwe next Friday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
After winning the toss,
Bangladesh elected to bat first but struggled against Afghanistan’s disciplined
bowling attack, which dismissed the entire side for 160 runs. Rashid Khan led
the charge with an outstanding four-wicket haul, while Yamin Ahmadzai and
Azmatullah Omarzai claimed two wickets each. Mohammad Nabi and Bilal Sami also
contributed with one wicket apiece.
In reply, AfghanAtalan
produced a composed batting performance, chasing down the 161-run target in
just 35 overs, with seven wickets in hand. Captain Rahmat Shah Zarmati led from
the front with an unbeaten 68*, while Ibrahim Zadran contributed 36 runs.
Hashmatullah Shahidi remained unbeaten on 38* to guide Afghanistan comfortably
across the finish line.
Rashid Khan was named Player of
the Match for his match-winning bowling performance, playing a key role in
restricting Bangladesh to a modest total.
With this victory, Afghanistan
have confirmed their place in the final of the tri-nation series, scheduled to
take place next Friday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Meanwhile, Bangladesh,
having lost both of their matches in the competition, have been eliminated from
the tournament.
