Kabul – March 4, 2025: The Afghanistan Future Stars are set to tour Nepal at the end of this month for a series of three Youth One Day International (YODI) matches against the home team. Following these matches, they will participate in the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup Asia Qualifiers, scheduled to be held in Nepal from April 12 to April 21.
The three YODIs between Afghanistan U19s and the host team are scheduled for April 3, 6, and 9, with all the games expected to be played in the capital, Katmandu.
Recently, the Afghanistan Future Stars completed a month-long skill development camp in Khost province, where 19 players received extensive training in all aspects of the game, with a focus on physical fitness and mental preparation.
They are also set to undergo another 10-day training camp this month to conclude their preparations ahead of their crucial international events.
ACB CEO Mr. Naseeb Khan is keenly looking forward for the upcoming tour, and states: “Nepal is a passionate cricketing nation that is rapidly rising in the region and has always posed tough challenges to its opponents. They have produced quality players who will represent their country well in the future.”
“Playing Nepal in their home conditions is a considerable challenge, but our team has prepared well over the past few months. I am hopeful that, based on the training and preparation they received in the recent past, they will perform well in both events and make our country proud by securing a spot in the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in 2026.”
