Khost – July 11, 2026: The Amo Sharks went past the Speenghar Tigers comprehensively by 8 wickets for their fifth victory in the tournament before the Mis-e-Ainak Knights managed to chase down the total and secure their 2nd victory on day 8 of the 11th edition of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola.
Earlier in the morning, the Amo Sharks won the toss and put the
Speenghar Tigers to bat first. After being put into bat first, the Speenghar
Tigers managed to post 167/7 runs on the board in the first inning, with major
contributions coming from the bat of Ismat Alam (42*), Ijaz Ahmadzai (28), Noor
Rahman (28) and Zubaid Akbari (22). Gulbadin Naib (3/37), Qais Ahmad (2/17),
and Yamin Ahmadzai (2/40) shared the wickets among them for the Amo Sharks.
In response, the Amo Sharks have put on a terrific batting effort and,
led by half-centuries from Imran Mir (88*) and Faisal Khan Shinozada (55*),
chased down the 168-run target by 8 wickets and registered their fifth victory
in the event. Imran Mir grabbed his second Player of the Match award in the
tournament for his match-winning and career-best of 88* off just 58 balls.
The second game of the day saw the Mis-e-Ainak Knights go up against
the Bost Defenders in the afternoon. The Bost Defenders won the toss and opted
to bat first. They went on to post 178/7 runs on the board in the first inning,
with major contributions coming in from the bat of Ibrahim Zadran (64),
Mohammad Asif (37*) and Karim Janat (27). Khalil Gurbaz (4/21), Nasratullah
Nooristani (1/14), and Mujeeb Ur Rahman (1/38) shared the wickets among them
for the Knights.
In response, Sohail Khan (45*), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (40) and Khalid Taniwal
(37) chipped in with crucial contributions to take the Mis-e-Ainak Knights past
the winning line by 3 wickets as they registered their 2nd victory in the
e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola. Abdullah Tarakhil
once again proved to be handy with the ball by picking up three wickets,
alongside Noor Ahmad, who took two wickets. However, the effort wasn’t enough
to see their team through.
Khalil Gurbaz was awarded the Player of the Match for his terrific
bowling figures of 4/21.
The event will continue tomorrow as well, which will see the
Mis-e-Ainak Knights taking on the Speenghar Tigers in the morning, before the
Amo Sharks take on the Bost Defenders in the afternoon encounter on July 12 at
the same venue.
