Baghlan, Kabul D, Ghazni, Paktika and Logar won today’s matches in WAK Grade II Tournament

On the 12th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, five matches were played across five grounds in three provinces. The teams of Baghlan, Kabul D, Ghazni, Paktika and Logar claimed victories, defeating Faryab, Paktia, Kandahar A, Kunduz A and Khost A, respectively.

On the 12th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, five matches were played across five grounds in three provinces. The teams of Baghlan, Kabul D, Ghazni, Paktika and Logar claimed victories, defeating Faryab, Paktia, Kandahar A, Kunduz A and Khost A, respectively.

At the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, Paktika won their match against Kunduz. Kunduz batted first and, after losing all their players, scored 173 runs. Najibullah Alkozai scored 100 runs, but the rest of the team did not contribute significantly. For Paktika, Azizullah took 3 wickets, while Enayatullah and Mohammad Alam took 2 each.

Paktika chased down the target in the 35th over. Atta Mohammad Zarmal scored 73, Hafeez Zadran 54 and Enayatullah 34. For Kunduz, Bashar Khan took 3 wickets, and Imran took 2. Atta Mohammad Zarmal was named Player of the Match.

At the Kandahar Cricket Ground, Ghazni played against Kandahar A and won by 44 runs. Ghazni batted first and set a target of 231. Umar Ziar scored 54, and Ismatullah scored 39. For Kandahar A, Shah Mohammad, Ahmad Raaz and Gul Mohammad Afghan each took 2 wickets.

Kandahar A, in pursuit of the target, scored only 186 runs, losing by 44. Noman Shah scored 40 and Abdul Waris made 30. Ghazni’s bowlers performed well, with Syed Ahmad taking 4 wickets and Rashid Zazai taking 3. Rashid Zazai was awarded Player of the Match for his great bowling.

At the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Ground in Khost, Baghlan faced Faryab and won by 79 runs. Baghlan batted first and set a target of 269. Amir Hamza scored 101, and Sohrab Amiri scored 93. For Faryab, Mateen Khan and Amin took 2 wickets each.

Faryab failed to chase the target and were all out for 189. Ezat Barakzai scored 94, Khalid Khan 39 and Ahmad Wali 33, but their efforts were not enough. Baghlan’s bowlers performed strongly, with Nematullah taking 4 wickets and Baz Mohammad taking 2. Amir Hamza was named Player of the Match for scoring a century.

At the Quraishi Cricket Ground in Kandahar, Kabul D defeated Paktia by 7 wickets. Paktia batted first and set a target of 302 runs, with Saifullah scoring 74, Wali Khan 53, Rahman Zarmati 51 and Bilal Hussain 44. For Kabul D, Hamza and Ezat Noor took 2 wickets each.

Kabul D chased the target with only 3 wickets lost. Ezat Noor scored 103, Waqas remained not out on 73, and Zainullah added 65. For Paktia, Nasib Khan, Haqmal Arya and Ehsan took one wicket each. Ezat Noor was named Player of the Match for his superb century.

At the Mis-e-Ainak Cricket Ground in Khost, Logar played against Khost A and won. Logar batted first and set a target of 342, with Yusuf Khan scoring 110, Malik Khan 108, Abdul Malik 46 and Mohammad Amin scoring 39. For Khost A, Imran Qadam took 3 wickets and Abdullah Mohammadi took 2.

Khost A, chasing the target, were all out for 188. Sadiq Shah top-scored with 89, but the rest of the team could not perform. Logar’s bowlers did well, with Mohammad and Luqman Khan taking 3 wickets each and Hamid taking 2. Yusuf Khan, the team captain, was named Player of the Match for his brilliant innings of scoring a century for his team.

  • At the Kandahar Cricket Ground: Helmand vs Ghazni
