Khost – July 10, 2026: The Bost Defenders have held their nerves to defend their total by just 1 run in a thrilling contest and complete their third victory in the 11th edition of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League powered by SuperCola.
After winning the toss, Bost
Defenders elected to bat first. They posted an impressive 185/4 in their allotted 20
overs, setting the Dragons a target of 186. Najibullah Zadran once again
starred with the bat, remaining unbeaten on 64, while Asif Musazai contributed an unbeaten 38, Hazratullah Zazai scored 31, and Akbar Musazai added 24 runs. For Band-e-Amir, Ghazanfar, Nangyal Kharoti, Saleem Safi, and Farmanullah Safi claimed one
wicket each.
In reply, the Band-e-Amir Dragons
made a promising start but lost wickets at crucial stages despite fighting
knocks from Sediqullah Atal (64),
Hashmatullah Shahidi (52),
and a quick-fire 31 by Sediqullah Pacha. They
ultimately fell just one run short
of the target. For the Bost Defenders, Basheer Ahmad
was the standout bowler, claiming three wickets,
while Noor Ahmad, Karim Janat, and Abdullah Tarakhail picked up one
wicket apiece.
Najibullah Zadran was named Player of the Match for his
outstanding batting performance, registering his third consecutive half-century
in the tournament.
The tournament continues
tomorrow, with the Speenghar Tigers
taking on the Amo Sharks
in the morning fixture, followed by the Mis-e-Ainak Atalan
facing the Bost Defenders
in the afternoon match.
