Kunduz – May 13, 2026: The Najibullah Zadran-led Bost Region delivered a clinical performance to beat the Mis-e-Ainak Region by 5 wickets in the Grand Finale and win the third edition of the e& National T20 Cup 2026, Powered by SuperCola.
This thrilling tournament started on
May 2 in Kunduz and featured five teams competing in a double round-robin
format, with a total of 21 matches being played over 13 days. The participating
teams included the Mis-e-Ainak Region, Band-e-Amir Region, Amo Region, Bost
Region, and Speenghar Region. Each team played against every other team twice, followed by the final
between the top two teams that was held today in Kunduz Cricket Ground in
Kunduz province.
Earlier in the
morning, Najibullah Zadran won the toss and decided that the Bost Region would
bowl first in the final. Emal Shaheen (73*) scored a blistering half-century,
whereas Ijaz Ahmadzai (43*), Asghar Atal (39) and Khalid Taniwal (34) stole the
show with the bat, as the Mis-e-Ainak Region posted a mammoth total of 211/4
runs on the board in the first inning.
In reply, Noman Shah
(119*) scored a blistering hundred, whereas Najibullah Zadran (43) stepped up
with valuable contributions as they led the Bost Region to chase down the
total, defeating the Mis-e-Ainak Region by 5 wickets to secure the championship
of the e& National T20 Cup 2026, powered by SuperCola.
Noman Shah 119* (56),
who put on a fantastic batting effort in the 2nd inning, was awarded the player
of the match. Mis-e-Ainak region’s middle-order batter Kiramatullah, who scored
184 runs at 26.28 during the event, was awarded the Emerging Player of the
Tournament.
Izharulhaq Naveed, Band-e-Amir
Region’s young leg spinner, picked 14 wickets and was recognized as the best
bowler of the e& National T20 Cup 2026, powered by SuperCola. In addition, Bost
Region’s top-order batter Noman Shah was adjudged as the best batter of the
tournament for scoring 403 runs at 57.57 in the event.
Amir Hamza, Bost
Region’s medium-fast bowling all-rounder, scored 101 runs and also took 5
wickets in the event, was awarded the best player of the tournament.
e& had secured the title sponsorship rights, while the Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company held the "Powered By" sponsorship rights for this event. As a result, this year’s tournament was officially named the “e& National T20 Cup 2026, powered by Super Cola”, which was the third edition of this tournament.
The introduction of this event has
enriched Afghanistan's domestic cricket landscape. Following this event,
the most prestigious One-Day tournament in the domestic calendar, the e&
National T20 Cup 2026, powered by SuperCola, will begin on May 17 in Nangarhar
province.
