As part of the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, two matches were played on day 19 at two different venues in Kandahar Province. In the first match, held at Kandahar Cricket Stadium, Herat defeated Kabul A by a commanding margin of 9 wickets, while in the second match at Quraishi Cricket Ground, Khost B also registered a 9-wicket victory over Laghman.
In the match between Herat and
Kabul A, Kabul A batted first and were bowled out for 194 runs. Their batting
effort was led by Hukamran with 50 runs, Mohammadullah Karimi with 42, and Zia
Arman with 38. Herat’s bowling attack was outstanding, with Mohammad Ali
claiming 5 wickets and Nasrullah taking 2 wickets.
Herat chased the target
comfortably, reaching 195 runs for the loss of just one wicket in 22.3 overs.
Aziz Nabi played a magnificent unbeaten innings of 118 runs, while Karim Khan
contributed 67 runs. For Kabul A, Batur Khan was the only bowler to claim a
wicket.

The second match of the day,
played at Quraishi Cricket Ground in Kandahar, saw Khost B emerge victorious
against Laghman. Laghman batted first and posted a competitive total of 242
runs. Their batting was anchored by Atif Khan with 74 runs, Imran Hasan with
53, and Hanzala with 41. For Khost B, the bowling unit performed strongly, with
Haseebullah, Najeeb Zadran, Izzatullah, and Hashim Khan each taking two
wickets.
In reply, Khost B chased down the
target in the 45th over, losing only one wicket. Their innings was highlighted
by an outstanding unbeaten 104 runs from Jamshed Zadran, a brilliant 101-run
knock by captain Asghar Atal, and 20 runs from Farhad Rasooli. For Laghman,
Barkatullah managed to take a single wicket.
At the conclusion of the match,
Khost B captain Asghar Atal, for his superb century, was awarded the Player of
the Match.
It is worth mentioning that on
the final day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament,
two matches will be played tomorrow. The first match will be held at Kandahar
Cricket Stadium between Nimroz and Kabul A, while the second match will take
place at Quraishi Cricket Ground between Khost B and Herat.
