In the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial T20 Tournament, two matches were played today. In Kandahar, Khost-B defeated Nangarhar in a Super Over, while at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, Nangarhar-B beat Paktika by 40 runs.
In the match between Nangarhar
and Khost-B, Nangarhar batted first and set a target of 144 runs in 20 overs.
Akbar Musazai was the top scorer with 68 runs. For Khost-B, Haseebullah took 3
wickets and Naseem Mangal claimed 2 wickets.
In response, Khost B scored 143
runs in their 20 overs, leveling the match. Khalid Tannaiwal scored 66 runs and
Asghar Atal added 23 runs for Khost-B. For Nangarhar, Zahir Shahzad took 2
wickets.
In the Super Over, Khost-B set a
target of 22 runs. Nangarhar managed 17 runs, and Khost-B won the match. Khalid
Tannaiwal was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 66 runs.
In the second match between
Nangarhar-B and Paktika, Nangarhar-B batted first and posted 190 runs in 20
overs. Abid Mohammadi scored 70 runs, and Rohullah contributed 34. For Paktika,
Azizullah and Mohammad Alam took one wicket each.
Chasing 190, Paktika scored 149
runs in 20 overs. Majid Alam made 68 runs, and Sher Khan Bahadar added 45. For
Nangarhar-B, Aftab Alam took 2 wickets.
Abid Mohammadi was named Player
of the Match for his 70 runs.
It is worth mentioning that Khost
B, Domestic-XI 2, Khost, and Kabul-A have qualified for the semifinals of the
Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial T20 Tournament. The semifinal
matches will be hosted in Nangarhar with Khost team to play against Domestic-XI
2 in Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground and Khost-B to take on Kabul-A in Najibullah
Tarakai Cricket Ground.
