Kabul: June 04, 2026: The Speenghar Regional Team, well-led by Darwish Rasooli, registered its second Regional List A title by beating the Gulbadin Naib-led Amo Region by 84 Runs in the Grand Finale of the e& Regional List A Tournament 2026, powered by SuperCola.
The event began on May 17 in Nangarhar province, where five regional
teams competed in a round-robin format, followed by a final between the top two
teams, which was held today at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in
Nangarhar province.
Earlier in the morning, Darwish Rasooli won the toss and decided that
the Speenghar Region would bat first in the final. After opting to bat first,
the skipper Darwish Rasooli (101) and the all-rounder Ismat Alam (100) scored
impressive hundreds for the Speenghar Region to help them post 277/8 runs on
the board in the first inning. Gulbadin Naib (5/65) impressed with an important
five-wicket haul for his team.
The Speenghar Region then backed up their impressive batting effort
with even better bowling performance as Arab Gul (3/32), Zahir Khan (2/27),
Ismat Alam (2/28), Mohammad Ibrahim (2/34) and Zubaid Akbari (1/21) stepped
forward with valuable contributions with the ball as they led the Speenghar
Region to defend their total and defeat the Amo Region by 84 runs to secure the
championship of the e& Regional List A Tournament 2026, powered by
SuperCola.
Ismat Alam (100 & 2/28), who scored an incredible hundred and
picked up two wickets in the 2nd inning, was awarded the player of the match.
Mis-e-Ainak Region’s young top-order batter Khalid Taniwal, who scored 357 runs
with the help of 2 hundreds and a half-century for his team during the event,
was awarded as the Emerging Player of the Tournament.
Yamin Ahmadzai, playing for the champion side, picked up 15 wickets in
the event and was recognized as the best bowler of the tournament. In addition,
Speenghar Region’s skipper and talented middle-order batter, Darwish Rasooli,
was adjudged the best batter of the tournament for scoring 419 runs at 104.75
in the event with 2 hundreds and 2 half-centuries.
Bost Region’s skipper and talented right-arm medium-fast bowling
all-rounder, Karim Janat, scored 213 runs and picked 9 wickets in the event and
was awarded the most valuable player of the tournament.
The e& Regional List A Tournament 2026, powered by SuperCola, was
one of the major events on the domestic calendar for 2026, and will be followed
by the 11th edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League.
