Kabul: June 20, 2026 – The 11th edition of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola, Afghanistan’s premier domestic cricket event, will kick off on July 1, 2026, in Khost. This year marks the first time the event will be held outside of Kabul, with five regional teams set to compete in a double round-robin format from July 1 to 14 at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Ground in Khost Province.

The tournament will begin with the defending champions, the Amo Sharks taking on the Band-e-Amir Dragons in the opening match of the tournament on July 1. The other three teams, the Mis-e-Ainak Knights, the Bost Defenders, and the Speenghar Tigers, will also vie for the title.

A total of 21 matches will be played over the 14 days, with the top two teams advancing to the Grand Finale of the tournament on July 14.

Etisalat has secured the title sponsorship rights for this event and will promote their e& brand. Additionally, Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company has been granted the "powered by" sponsorship rights in line with a long-term agreement. Therefore, the event will be officially named the “e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola.”

The league was inaugurated in 2013 during the rapid rise of T20 cricket on the global stage. Over the years, the Speenghar Tigers have been crowned champions three times, while the Mis-e-Ainak Knights, Amo Sharks, and Kabul Eagles have each won the title twice. The Mis-e-Ainak Knights have reached the finals five times, making them the most successful team in Shpageeza Cricket League history. The Band-e-Amir Dragons, led by Rashid Khan, won the championship in 2017 and remain the only team with a single title.

As a vital component of Afghanistan's domestic cricket structure, the Shpageeza Cricket League 2026 will play a crucial role in promoting the growth of cricket in the country. Following this event, the 9th edition of the Ahmad Shah Abdali First Class Tournament will take place in September this year.
