Khost - July 13, 2026: The Speenghar Tigers put on yet another clinical performance to beat the Band-e-Amir Region and make it to the Grand Finale of the Tournament, before Rahmanullah Gurbaz recorded the fastest hundred in the history of the Shpageeza Cricket League and charged the Mis-e-Ainak Knights to their third victory in the tournament.
Earlier in
the morning, the Band-e-Amir Dragons won the toss and opted to bowl first. The
Speenghar Tigers were up to the task and posted 209/9 runs on the board in the
first inning, with the major contributions coming from the bat of Bahir Shah
(56), Noor Rahman (48), Ijaz Ahmadzai (30), and Ismat Alam (20). Salam Khan
(2/32) and Sayed Shirzad (2/41) were the pick of the bowlers for the
Band-e-Amir Dragons.
The Tigers
then went on to back up their brilliant batting performance with an even better
bowling effort later in the morning to defend their total and beat the
Band-e-Amir Dragons by 24 runs for their 5th victory in the tournament.
Barakzai Nasiri (69*), Sediqullah Atal (64) and Sediqullah Pacha (35) chipped
in with some runs for the Dragons, but the show was stolen by Rashid Khan
(2/30), Ismat Alam (2/26), Ijaz Ul Haq Noorzai (2/42) and Mohammad Ibrahim
(2/32), who led the Tigers to a 24-run victory.
The second
game of the day was held between the Sharks and Knights, with the Sharks opting
to bat first after winning the toss. Kiramatullah (71*) scored an incredible
half-century and single-handedly pushed the Amo Sharks' total to 166/7 runs at
the end of the first inning. Bilal Sami (3/33) was the pick of the bowlers for
the Mis-e-Ainak Knights.
In response,
Rahmanullah Gurbaz has rewritten the record books with a breathtaking 36-ball
century, the fastest hundred in the history of the Shpageeza Cricket League. He
finished with 107* off just 39 balls, including 11 sixes and 6 fours, and was
equally supported by Khalid Taniwal (50) as they made light work of the chase
to get past the winning line in 11.1 overs by 9 wickets.
Rahmanullah
Gurbaz produced a record-breaking performance this afternoon that etched his
name into the Shpageeza Cricket League history books with an extraordinary
innings. He scored the fastest century in SCL history off just 36 balls, became
the first player to score two centuries in SCL history, and also hit the most
number of sixes in a single innings (11). All these awards were more than
enough to earn him the Player of the Match award.
The last day
of the league stage of the event will see the Speenghar Tigers meet the Bost
Defenders in the morning, whereas the Mis-e-Ainak Knights will lock horns
against the Band-e-Amir Dragons in match number 20 of the tournament,
followed by the Grand Finale between the Speenghar Tigers and the Amo Sharks,
on Wednesday, July 15 at the same venue.
