Kabul – January 22, 2026: Afghanistan National Cricket Team fell short by 15 runs in the third T20I match, but with victories in the first two games, secured a 2-1 victory in the e& Cup T20I series, powered by SuperCola.

Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in the final match, to test the chasing ability of the team ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup, which begins early next month. Rashid Khan (2/13), Abdullah Ahmadzai (2/30), and Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi (2/43) take two wickets each as the West Indies posted 151/7 runs on the board to set Afghanistan a 152-run target in the third T20I match.

In response, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a solid knock of 70 runs, but the team fell short of the target by 15 runs, as the visitors completed their first win in the series and their first-ever in Dubai.

Shamar Springer was named the Player of the Match for picking up a hat-trick in the game, which turned out to be match-turning.

Darwish Rasooli has been awarded the Best Player of the Series for scoring a total of 156 runs, including two half-centuries in the series.

Given this, the e& Cup T20I series has ended in Afghanistan's favor with a 2-1 margin, with the team set to begin a preparatory camp before embarking on their Journey at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
