Abu Dhabi – October 11, 2025: AfghanAtalan have put on a terrific all-round performance to beat Bangladesh by 81 runs in the second ODI match and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the Etisalat Cup three-match ODI series 2025.

Earlier in the afternoon, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first, but the batters put on a dismal batting performance as they were reduced to 190 runs in the first inning. Ibrahim Zadran was the top scorer with a classy 95-run knock, with the next top scorer being AM Ghazanfar (22) and Mohammad Nabi (22).

AfghanAtalan put all their energy when they got to the field with the ball in hand. Azmatullah Omarzai struck twice in his opening spell, before Rashid Khan took over the opposition and changed the course of the game with a game-changing 5/17 off his 8.3 overs.

AfghanAtalan have bundled out Bangladesh for 109 runs and won the second ODI match by a big margin of 81 runs to bag the series with one more game to go.

Ibrahim Zadran was named Player of the Match for his outstanding batting performance, scoring 95 runs off 140 balls. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan, who registered his 6th fifer in ODIs and returned with figures of 5/17, was awarded as the Game Changer of the Match.

The game was also special for the top-order batter Ibrahim Zadran and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai, who went on to play their 100th international match for Afghanistan.

Ibrahim Zadran has previously played 55 T20Is, 37 ODIs, and 7 Test matches and tonight’s match against Bangladesh was his 100th in International cricket. Meanwhile, Azmatullah Omarzai has 58 T20I, 40 ODI, and a solitary Test cap, and the second ODI was his overall 100th match in the international arena.

Having already won the first two games, AfghanAtalan have an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, with the third and final match of the series scheduled to be played on Tuesday, October 14, at the same venue.
