The Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade II tournament continues as six matches took place on day 8. During the day, Helmand defeated Kabul-D, Kandahar-A beat Paktia, Logar defeated Parwan, Khost-A beat Baghlan, Nangarhar overcame Zabul, and Kunar defeated Jawzjan.

The Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade II tournament continues as six matches took place on day 8. During the day, Helmand defeated Kabul-D, Kandahar-A beat Paktia, Logar defeated Parwan, Khost-A beat Baghlan, Nangarhar overcame Zabul, and Kunar defeated Jawzjan.

In the Quraishi Cricket Ground of Kandahar province, Helmand defeated Kabul-D by 9 runs. Batting first, Helmand set a target of 236, powered by Ahmad Zia’s 55, Zalmay Khaksar’s 43, Dastgeer and Qudratullah 34 runs each. For Kabul D, Roohullah took 3 while Juma Sultani and Rahimullah each took 2 wickets.

Chasing the target, Kabul-D were all out for 226 runs. Their main scorers were Izat Noor with 69 and Zainullah with 35 runs. Mustafa took 3 while Dastgeer, Anwar Khan, and Mahmood took 2 wickets each for their team Helmand in the bowling unit.

Helmand’s captain Dastagir was named Player of the Match for his all-round performance.

Logar beat Parwan with a big margin of 111 runs at the Mis-e-Ainak cricket ground of Khost province. Batting first, Logar set a massive target of 372 runs, powered by Saber Hanif 119, Mohammad Amin 92, and Mansoor 90 runs. For Parwan, Raihanuddin took 2 wickets.

Chasing the target, Parwan scored 260 runs. Their top scorers were Izzat Farooqi, 121; Rahmatullah, 54, and Khalid Niazi, 47. In Logar’s bowling, Zahid Momand took 3 wickets while Hameed, Mohammad, and Noorullah took 2 wickets each.

Saber Hanif was awarded Player of the Match for his century.

In another match, Nangarhar defeated Zabul. Batting first, Nangarhar set a target of 297 runs with Akbar Musa Zai 106, Noman 73, and Iqdamulhaq 51 runs. For Zabul, Taibullah took 3 wickets while Imran and Hamdullah took 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target, Zabul were all out for 104 runs. Mohammad Younus had the biggest contribution for them in the batting. For Nangarhar, Mohammad Sahil took 4, and Jan Agha took 2 wickets.

Akbar Musa Zai was named Player of the Match for his yet another brilliant century.

Kunar defeated Jawzjan by 2 wickets in their hosting venue, Kunar. Jawzjan had set a target of 257 runs, supported by Subhan Ali 111, Sayed Jalal 52, and Munir 34 runs. For Kunar, Masihullah took 2 wickets.

Kunar chased the target in 42 overs, led by Zubair Ahmadi 71, Rohullah 62, and Abdul Rahman 37 runs. In Jawzjan bowling, Javed Seyedi took 3 wickets while Sayed Jalal and Imran took 2 wickets each.

Zubair Ahmad won the Player of the Match award.

Kandahar-A defeated Paktia by 1 wicket in a thrilling finish at their home venue at Kandahar. Batting first, Paktia set a target of 245 runs, with Haqmal Arya 74, Saifullah 53, and Rahman 34 runs. For Kandahar-A, Abdul Musawir took 4 wickets while Izzatullah and Shah Mohammad took 2 wickets each.

Kandahar-A chased the target in the final over, losing 9 wickets. Their key scorers were Shah Mohammad 106*, Noman Shah 41 and Mohammad Ishaq with 25 runs. For Paktia, Haqmal Arya took 3 wickets while Shahid Khan took 2 wickets.

All-rounder Shah Mohammad was named Player of the Match.

In Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Ground, the Khost-A defeated Baghlan by 11 runs. Batting first, Khost-A set a target of 249 runs with Saber Gurbaz 56, Saleem Normal 52, and Sadiq Shah’s 48 runs. For Baghlan, Zuhaib Khan took 2 wickets.

Chasing 249, Baghlan were all out for 237 runs. Their top scorers were Romal Mangal with 68, Baz Mohammad 41and Rahat Andar with 35 runs. For Khost-A, Ajmal Khan, Samirullah, and Saber Gurbaz each took 3 wickets

All-rounder Saber Gurbaz won Player of the Match.
