Kabul-A Beat Chairman-XI While Paktika Beat Khost on Day 14 of WAK Grade 1 Provincial Tournament

In the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial Tournament, two matches were played today in Nangarhar and Khost. Paktika defeated Khost by 3 wickets, while Kabul A secured a narrow 6-run victory over the Chairman-XI.

In the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial Tournament, two matches were played today in Nangarhar and Khost. Paktika defeated Khost by 3 wickets, while Kabul A secured a narrow 6-run victory over the Chairman-XI.

The match between Kabul A and Chairman-XI was played at the Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Stadium in Nangarhar. Batting first, Kabul A posted a total of 231 runs. Captain Asif Musazai led the batting with 69 runs, while Asadullah Danish scored 43 and Mohammad Haroon added 34 runs. For Chairman-XI, Wali Agha delivered an impressive bowling performance, taking four wickets.

In reply, Chairman-XI scored 224 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 45 overs, falling short by 6 runs. Captain Ejaz Ahmad top-scored with 77 runs, followed by Farid Zadran with 63 and Murad Ali Murad with 30 runs. For Kabul A, Jalal Ahmad and Qamar Shams each claimed three wickets. Jalal Ahmad was named Player of the Match for his spell of 3 wickets for 31 runs.

The second match of the day was played at Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium in Khost, where Paktika defeated the hosting team Khost. Batting first, Khost set a target of 261 runs, with Reshad Stanikzai scoring 91, Nasir Ahmad 72, and Saif Nangyal contributing 27 runs. For Paktika, Samiullah Alizai took three wickets, while Mohibullah Zarmati claimed two.

Chasing the target, Paktika reached 261 runs in the 42nd over with the loss of 7 wickets. Karamatullah starred with 95 runs, while Inayatullah remained unbeaten on 84 and Saifullah added 21 runs. For Khost, Abidullah Abid took two wickets. Paktika all-rounder Inayatullah was named Player of the Match for scoring 84 runs and taking one wicket.

It is worth noting that as the event continues, tomorrow Khost-B will face Nangarhar at the Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Stadium in Nangarhar, while Kandahar A will take on Domestic-XI at the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium in Khost.
