Four matches were played today in the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial T20 Tournament in Kandahar and Nangarhar.
In today’s fixtures, Domestic-XI defeated
Kabul-A by 5 runs, Khost beat Paktika by 38 runs, Khost-B defeated Logar by 8
wickets, and Chairman-XI overcame Kandahar A by 10 runs.
The match between Khost-B and
Logar was reduced to 16 overs due to rain. Logar set a target of 153 runs, with
Sabir Hanif scoring 47 and Ezzat Noor adding 26. For Khost-B, Naseem Mangal
took 3 wickets, while Haseebullah and Hashim Khan claimed 2 wickets each.
Khost-B chased down the target in
the final over, losing just 2 wickets and won the match by 8 wickets. Asghar
Atal scored 73 and Rahman Rehan made 55 runs. For Logar, Bakht Mohammad and
Mohammad Dawood took one wicket each.

named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 73 runs.
In another rain-affected match
reduced to 15 overs, Chairman-XI secured a 10-run victory over Kandahar-A. Chairman-XI
posted a massive total of 186 runs. Mohibullah Hamraz played a brilliant
innings, scoring 131 runs and registering the first century of the tournament.
Fazal Usmani contributed 28 runs. For Kandahar-A, Usman Abdal took 2 wickets.
In reply, Kandahar-A were all out
for 175 runs. Imran Mazari scored 73 and Nauman Shah added 51. For Chairman-XI,
Asadullah Matani took 3 wickets, while Mohammad Ali claimed 2.
Mohibullah Hamraz was named
Player of the Match for his brilliant century.
In Najibullah Tarakai Cricket
Ground, Domestic-XI defeated Kabul-A by 5 runs. Batting first, Domestic-XI scored
153 runs in 20 overs. Abdul Hadi made 59 runs and Islam Zazai added 50. For
Kabul-A, Sayed Khan took 4 wickets and Sayed Ahmad Sherzad claimed 2.
In response, Kabul-A managed 147
runs in their 20 overs. Irfanullah Safi scored 29 and Asadullah Danish made 28.
For Domestic-XI, Lais Lawang and Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets each.
Domestic-XI captain Abdul Hadi
was named Player of the Match for his 59 runs.
Khost defeated Paktika by 38 runs
in Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground of Nangarhar. Batting first, Khost set a
target of 157 runs in 20 overs, powered by 52 from Shamsur Rahman and 29 from
Nasir Ahmad. For Paktika, Azizullah took 4 wickets and Samiullah Alizai claimed
3.
Chasing the target, Paktika were
bowled out for 118 runs in the final over. Karamatullah scored 55 runs. For
Khost, Shafiullah took 3 wickets, while Younis Zadran, Khalil Ahmad, and
Mustafa Sangar claimed 2 wickets each.
Khost all-rounder Younis Zadran
was named Player of the Match for scoring 20 runs and taking 2 wickets.
The tournament continues tomorrow
morning, with Khost-B to face Nangarhar at Kandahar Cricket Ground in Kandahar,
and Paktika to take on Nangarhar-B at Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in
Nangarhar.
