Kabul - April 23, 2026: The e& Mirwais Nika Three-Day Tournament, which began on April 5 across Kandahar and Helmand provinces 2026, powered by Super Cola, concluded on April 23 with Amo Region emerging as the top-performing team after finishing at the top of the table with 59 points.
The competition featured representing teams from all five regions of the country, including players of the national team, Afghanistan A, National U19 team, and some of the top performers in domestic cricket.
In the final round of matches, the Amo Region faced Band-e-Amir in a closely contested match in Helmand province. Band-e-Amir won the toss and elected to bat first, posting a strong total of 329 runs in their first innings. Naqibullah Ehsas led the effort with an impressive 144, supported by Mohammad Riaz with 109 and Khalid Ahmadzai with 43. For the Amo Region, Enayatullah claimed three wickets while Usman Younus picked up two.
In response, Amo Region scored 335 runs, taking a narrow six-run first-innings lead. Javed Ahmadzai contributed 77, Allah Noor Nasiri added 70, and Rahman Rehano made 46, while Waheedullah Zadran took three wickets for the Band-e-Amir region and Sayed Shirzad, Naseer Khan, and Wali Agha chipped in with two wickets each.
In their second innings, Band-e-Amir reached 268 for the loss of eight wickets before the match ended in a draw. Sohail Khan scored 88, Ezzat Noor made 82, and Naqibullah Ehsas added another 40 runs. Rohullah Arab and Usman Younus were the standout bowlers for Amo in the second innings, taking three and two wickets respectively. Naqibullah Ehsas was named Player of the Match for his outstanding all-round batting performance across both innings.
Meanwhile, at the Kandahar Cricket Ground, Mis-e-Ainak and Speenghar faced off in yet another closely fought and competitive fixture. The Mis-e-Ainak region, after winning the toss, posted 315 runs in their first innings, with Mohammad Younus scoring 72, Nasir Ahmad adding 68, Saif Nangyal contributing 63, and Karamatullah making 47. Speenghar’s bowlers were led by Ikram Mohmand and Hayat Noori, who took three wickets each, while Abuzar Safi and Nazifullah Amiri picked up two wickets apiece.
Speenghar replied with 307 runs in their first innings, falling just eight runs short of the target. Jalalat Khan Musazai scored an impressive 114, and Majid Alam added 86, while Naseem Mangal took five wickets and Mohammadullah claimed four for Mis-e-Ainak.
In their second innings, the Mis-e-Ainak were bowled out for 188, with Emal Shaheen top-scoring with 77, while Khatir Stanikzai and Abuzar Safi led the bowling attack with five and three wickets respectively. Chasing a target of 197, Speenghar successfully reached the total with the loss of four wickets, thanks largely to an unbeaten 102 from Nazifullah Amiri, who guided his team to victory. Mohammadullah Logari took two wickets but could not prevent the defeat. Nazifullah Amiri was named Player of the Match for his match-winning century along with his contribution with the ball.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Mohammad Younus Zadran of Mis-e-Ainak was named Player of the Tournament after an outstanding all-round performance, scoring 363 runs and taking seven wickets. Among the leading run-scorers, Ershaduddin Safi topped the charts with 404 runs, followed by Javed Ahmadzai with 374 and Younus Zadran with 363.
In the bowling department, Mohammadullah Logari finished as the leading wicket-taker with 22 wickets, while Nasir Khan and Rohullah Arab followed with 17 and 15 wickets respectively.
It is also worth noting that the top performers from this tournament are set to feature in the upcoming Ahmad Shah Abdali First-Class Tournament, scheduled to take place in August this year.
