Kabul – April 17, 2025: AfghanAbdalyan have put on a magnificent all-round performance to beat the Ireland Wolves by 7 wickets and register their first victory in the Explore Afghanistan Tri-Nation Series 2025, powered by Super Cola.
Earlier in the morning, AfghanAbdalyan won the toss and opted to
bowl first. The bowling unit put on a commanding bowling effort throughout the
entire inning. Qais Ahmad (3/34), Farmanullah Safi (2/37), Sharafuddin Ashraf
(2/47), Abdul Malik (1/15), Naveed Zadran (1/37) and Khalil Ahmad (1/31) shared
wickets between them to help the AfghanAbdalyan restrict the Ireland Wolves to
203/10 runs in the first inning.
In Reply, Zubaid Akbari (76) and Sediqullah Atal (52) scored
half-centuries, and the skipper Darwish Rasooli (33*) and Ikram Alikhil (25*)
chipped in with unbeaten cameos to help the AfghanAbdalyan chase down the total
in 33.1 overs by 7 wickets and register their first win in the Explore
Afghanistan Tri-Nation Series 2025, powered by Super Cola.
Qais Ahmad was awarded the Player of the Match for his terrific
bowling figures of 3/37 off his eight overs, which helped Afghanistan restrict
the Ireland Wolves to an under-par total.
The 4th match of the Explore Afghanistan Tri-Nation
Series will see the Ireland Wolves taking on Sri Lanka A on Saturday, before
AfghanAbdalyan meet Sri Lanka for their 3rd game of the event.
