Kabul – November 15, 2025: AfghanAbdalyan have delivered an outstanding all-round performance to beat Sri Lanka A team by 3 wickets and kicked off their Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025 campaign with a comprehensive victory.

Sri Lanka A won the toss and opted to bat first. The bowling unit, led by Bilal Sami (4/45) and AM Ghazanfar (3/32), did a terrific job to reduce Sri Lanka A to 170/9 runs in the first inning.

AfghanAbdalyan lost Zubaid Akbar in the very first over, but it was Seiquallah Atal, yet again, alongside Imran Mir (34), who put up a good partnership and took Afghanistan to the driver’s seat. Sediqullah Atal (54) scored his 20th half-century in T20 cricket, which was also his 6th successive, counting from the previous edition of this event, where he scored 5 half-centuries in five games.

The skipper, Darwish Rasooli (32), chipped in with runs in the middle overs, before Qais Ahmad (16*) and Nangyal Kharoti (15*) took Afghanistan home by 3 wickets in the final over.

Bilal Sami, who took 4 wickets for 45 runs and helped Afghanistan reduce the opponents to a par score, was named as the Player of the Match.

AfghanAbdalyan will meet Bangladesh A in their second match of the tournament on Monday, November 15, at the same venue.
