Kabul: January 21, 2026: Afghanistan National U19 Team has put on yet another spectacular performance to beat the Tournament Debutants, Tanzania, by 9 wickets. With this victory, Afghanistan topped Group D with a perfect record of three consecutive wins and qualified for the Super Six round of the ICC Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup 2026.

Earlier in the morning, Tanzania U19s won the toss and decided to bat first against Afghanistan U19s. Afghan bowlers enjoyed the decision and the first half of the game as they put on a remarkable show with the ball in hand. Nasratullah Nooristani (5/9), Uzairullah Khan (2/9), Wahidullah Zadran (1/8), and Khatir Stanikzai (1/12) shared the wickets among them as they bundled out the Tanzania U19s for 85 runs in the first inning.

The batting unit, led by Faisal Khan’s unbeaten knock of 55* runs off just 34 balls, made light work of the chase and took the game home by 9 wickets with more than 37 overs to spare.

Nasratullah Nooristani ripped through Tanzania U19's batting order to return with remarkable figures of 5/9 off his 7 overs, which earned him the Player of the Match award.

This victory placed the Afghanistan Future Stars at the top of Group D, with a perfect run of 3 wins out of 3 games played, and qualified them for the next round of the tournament, where they will meet A2 & A3, with the schedule to be released shortly.
