Kunduz – May 11, 2026: The Bost Region has put on a terrific all-round performance to beat the Band-e-Amir Region by 34 runs and make it to the final of the event by registering their 5th victory in the event. The afternoon game saw the Mis-e-Ainak going past the Speenghar Region by 7 wickets to get one step closer to the final.
The
Band-e-Amir Region opted to bowl first in the opening game of the day.
Muhibullah Hamraz (85) and Noman Shah (59) scored half-centuries, where Amir
Hamza (32) chipped in a crucial cameo as the Bost Region posted a mammoth total
of 209/5 on the board in the first inning.
They backed
up their brilliant batting effort with an even better bowling performance as
they restricted the Band-e-Amir Region to 175/9 runs in the second inning to
win the game by 34 runs and register their 5th victory in the event. Abdullah
Tarakhil (5/30) has put on a brilliant bowling performance to register a
magnificent five-wicket haul against the Band-e-Amir Region and secured the
Player of the Match award.
The second
game of the day saw the Mis-e-Ainak Region facing the Speenghar Region in a
do-or-die match. The Speenghar Region won the toss and opted to bat first, but
faced a brutal bowling attack as Nijat Masoud (3/17), Nasim Mangal (2/36) and
Luftullah (2/24) shared the wickets among them to bundle the Speenghar Region
out for 136 runs in the first inning.
The
Mis-e-Ainak Region then made light work of the chase as the youngsters, Khalid
Taniwal (43), Rahman Zurmati (34), and Kiramatullah (32*), chipped in with
excellent contributions to help the team chase down the total and register
their 4th victory in the tournament. Nijat Masoud was awarded the Player of the
Match.
Tomorrow, the
last day of the round-robin stage, will see the Mis-e-Ainak Region facing off
against the Bost Region in the morning. In contrast, the Bost Region will meet
the Amo Region in the afternoon match of the day.
