Kabul A, Farah, Kapisa, Kabul, Kunar, and Nangarhar teams secured victories on Day 3 of WAK Grade II tournament

Six matches were held on day 3 of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade II tournament in 4 provinces. In these matches, Kabul A defeated Uruzgan, Farah beat Kandahar, Kapisa overcame Khost, Nangarhar defeated Samangan, Kunar beat Badakhshan, and Kabul defeated Takhar.

Six matches were held on day 3 of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade II tournament in 4 provinces. In these matches, Kabul A defeated Uruzgan, Farah beat Kandahar, Kapisa overcame Khost, Nangarhar defeated Samangan, Kunar beat Badakhshan, and Kabul defeated Takhar.

In Kunar, Badakhshan faced Kunar where the host team Kunar claimed victory by 25 runs. In this match, Kunar set a target of 175 runs with 46 runs from Ershad Safi and 41 from Waseem Sarwary. In Badakhshan’s bowling, Khair Mohammad Alizai took 7 wickets.

In response to the target set by Kunar, Badakhshan were bowled out for 149 runs. For them, Aminullah scored 30 and Sami Afghan made 19. On the Kunar side, Ehsanullah took 5 wickets and Masihullah claimed 2 wickets.

At the Rahmat Wali Masroor Ground in Khost, Kabul defeated Takhar by 36 runs. Kabul batted first and set a target of 215 runs. In their innings, Mohammad Saber scored 70, Asadullah 49, and Ebrahim Shinwari 36. For Takhar, Noor Ali Niazai took 3 wickets, while Rohullah and Faridullah claimed 2 wickets each.

While chasing Kabul’s target, Takhar were bowled out for 178 runs. For Takhar, Sohail Momand scored 37 and Noor Ali made 28. For Kabul, Ebrahim Shinwari took 5 wickets and Tariq Shinwari claimed 2 wickets. Ebrahim Shinwari was named Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.

In Kandahar, Kabul A defeated Uruzgan. In this match, Kabul A set a target of 297 runs, powered by Fazal Osmani’s 103, Mubarak Shah’s 65, and Muslim Musa’s 42. For Uruzgan, Rohullah took 3 wickets.

Uruzgan managed to score only 99 runs before losing all their wickets, suffering a 197-run defeat. For them, Zabihullah top-scored with 20 runs. In Kabul A’s bowling, Rahmatullah took 4 wickets, while Nusrat Saqib and Noor Mohammad Kakar took 2 wickets each. Kabul A’s batsman Fazal Osmani was awarded Player of the Match for his century.

At the Mis-e-Ainak Ground in Khost, the host Kapisa defeated Khost. In this match, Khost set a target of 203 runs, with Shams Zadran and Shamsurrahman both scoring 45 runs. For Kapisa, Irfan Safi, Zahid Afghan, Sherullah, and Hazrat Wali each claimed 2 wickets.

Kapisa chased the target in the 40th over, losing only 2 wickets. For them, Storai Sahel scored 52, Tariq Safi 51, Abdul Wahab 46, and Ziarmal Khan 40. For Khost, Lal Pacha took 2 wickets. Stori Sahel was named Player of the Match.

At the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Stadium in Nangarhar, the Nangarhar team defeated Samangan by 203 runs. Nangarhar set a huge target of 378 runs, powered by 123 from Jalat Musazai, 100 from Akbar Musazai, and 99 from Yasin Khan. For Samangan, Yaser Mohammadzai and Lais Lawang took one wicket each.

In pursuit of the target, Samangan were bowled out for 174 runs. Their top scorers were Haseeb Afghan with 52 and Mashoq with 32. For Nangarhar, Iqdamulhaq took 4 wickets and Ebrahim claimed 3. Jalat Musazai received the Player of the Match award for his stunning innings of scoring 123 runs.

At the Quraishi Stadium in Kandahar, Farah defeated the host Kandahar team. Kandahar batted first and set a target of 287 runs with contributions from Mohammad Idris (74), Hikmatullah (67), and Nasibullah Popal (58). For Farah, Najibullah Farahi and Azizullah took 2 wickets each.

Farah chased the 287-run target in the 44th over for the loss of just 2 wickets. Their innings included 124 by Mustafa, 69 by Basheer Ahmad, and 64 by Jalal Ahmad. For Kandahar, Jalil Khan took 2 wickets. Mustafa, the batsman from Farah, was named Player of the Match for his 124 runs.

It is worth mentioning that there will be two matches on Day 4 of Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade II Provincial Tournament. In Nangarhar’s Ghazi Amanullah Khan Stadium, Balkh will play against Kabul B, and in Kunar, Nangarhar B will face Kabul C.
