The Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament is in full swing in four provinces, as Kandahar A defeated Helmand, Badakhshan defeated Kabul C, Ghazni beat Paktia, Paktika defeated Nangarhar A, Khost A overcame Faryab, and Baghlan won against Parwan on the 9th day of the event.
At the Kandahar Cricket Ground,
the Ghazni team defeated the Paktia team by 7 wickets. Paktia batted first and
scored 168 runs before losing all wickets. Among their batsmen, Rahman scored
68, and Shawkat added 20 runs. In Ghazni’s bowling, Rahmanullah took 3 wickets,
while Shams Fakhri, Rashid Zazai, and Khalid Andar each claimed 2 wickets.
Ghazni successfully chased the
169-run target in the 34th over. For Ghazni, Mohibullah Jalalzai scored 71, and
Shahid Afzali made 61 runs. On the Paktia bowling side, Sami Mubarez took 2
wickets. Mohibullah Jalalzai from the Ghazni team was named the Player of the
Match for his batting knock of 71 runs.
At Kandahar Qureshi Ground,
Kandahar A defeated Helmand by 7 wickets. In this match, Helmand set a target
of 259 runs, supported by Qudratullah’s 63, Ahmad Zia’s 59, and Sharifullah’s
56 runs. In Kandahar A Team’s bowling, Ahmad Raz claimed 3 wickets.
Kandahar A chased the target in
the 39th over. In their batting, Nauman Shah scored 107, Mohammad Ishaq 50, and
Sulaiman Khail 48 runs. In Helmand’s bowling, Mustafa Sangar took 2 wickets, and
Naqibullah Barakzai claimed 1. Nauman Shah, the captain of Kandahar A, was
named the Player of the Match for his century knock.
In Kunar, Badakhshan defeated
Kabul C by 47 runs. Badakhshan set a massive target of 321 runs, powered by
Fareed Zadran’s 153 and Abdul Jabbar’s 104 runs. In Kabul C’s bowling, Syed
Khan dismissed 7 players.
In response, Kabul C scored 273
runs. Their batsmen Habibullah scored 116, Sanaullah 57, and Mohammad 48 runs.
In Badakhshan’s bowling, Mohammad Shahid took 2 wickets. Fareed Zadran from the Badakhshan team was named the Player of the Match for his stunning 153 runs in
batting.
At Nangarhar’s Ghazi Amanullah
Khan Stadium, Paktika defeated Nangarhar A by 1 wicket. Nangarhar A batted
first and set a target of 177 runs. Their top scorer was Abdul Majeed with 46.
In Paktika’s bowling, Azizullah and Mohammad Alam each took 3 while Inayatullah
took 2 wickets.
Paktika chased the 177-run target
in the 43rd over with 9 wickets down. In their batting, Ata Mohammad Zarmal
scored 91, and Akbar added 24 runs. For Nangarhar A, Wali Agha took 3 wickets,
while Hayat Nori and Tahseen took 2 each. Ata Mohammad Zarmal of Paktika was
named Player of the Match for his brilliant batting.
At Khost Rahmat Wali Masroor
Stadium, Khost A defeated Faryab by 80 runs. Batting first, Khost A set a
target of 312, with Saif Nangyal’s 90, Seyedurrahman’s 64, Sadiq Shah’s 60, and
Habibullah’s 47 runs. For Faryab, Sanaullah and Zabiullah took 2 wickets each.
While chasing, Faryab scored 231
runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Their batsmen Kamran Zadran scored 96, Izzat
Barakzai 41, and Ahmad Wali 31 runs. In Khost A’s bowling, Habibullah Tannaiwal
and Abdullah Mohammadi each dismissed 2 players. Saif Nangyal from Khost A team
was named Player of the Match for his 90 runs.
At Khost's Mis-e-Ainak Ground,
Baghlan defeated Parwan by a big margin of 97 runs. Baghlan set a target of
314, supported by Sohrab Amiri’s 61, Amir Hamza’s 53, Sher Mohammad’s 51, and
Rahat Andar's 35 runs. For Parwan, Raihanuddin took 3 wickets, while Omidullah
and Abdul Salam claimed 2 each.
Chasing the target, Parwan scored
216 runs before losing all wickets. Their batsmen Saifullah scored 83, Khalid
Niazi 52, and Omidullah 33 runs. In Baghlan’s bowling, Darwish Ahmadzai took 4
wickets, and Nematullah claimed 3. Darwish Ahmadzai was named the Player of the
Match.
