Kandahar, Khost, Jawzjan, Maidan Wardak, Balkh, Kunduz-A and Kabul-B won their matches against Uruzgan, Takhar, Kabul C, Farah, Samangan, Kapisa, and Zabul, respectively, on the second day of the Wazir Akbar Khan Grade II Provincial tournament that is held among 40 provincial teams on seven grounds in four provinces of the country.
At the Ghazi Amanullah Khan
Stadium in Nangarhar, Kabul-B defeated Zabul by 138 runs. Kabul-B batted first,
scoring a target of 236 runs with Idris Niazi’s 67 and Hamidullah Hotak’s 42
runs. In Zabul’s bowling unit, Ahmad Wali Sial took 4 wickets, while Nazir and
Abdul Rafi took 2 wickets each.
Chasing the target, Zabul managed
to score only 97 runs and lost the match by 138 runs. In their batting lineup,
Ahmad Shah and Mohammad Younas scored 16 runs each, the highest for their side.
For Kabul-B, Enayatullah and Izatullah took 3 wickets each, and Mohammad Nabi
claimed 2 wickets. Kabul-B’s bowler Izzatullah was named Player of the Match.
In Kunar, Jawzjan defeated
Kabul-C. Kabul-C had set a target of 240 runs, with Sanaullah Umarzai scoring
119 and Faiz Mohammad adding 35. For Jawzjan, Javid Sediq claimed 3 wickets,
while Nasrullah Turkman, Mujeeb, and Sayed Jalal took 2 wickets each.
Jawzjan chased the target in the
41st over. In their batting, captain Nasrullah Turkman scored 100, and Javid
Sediq scored 77. For Kabul-C, Farid Khan took 3 wickets and Faiz Mohammad 2.
Javid Sediq was declared Player of the Match.
At Quraishi Stadium in Kandahar,
Maidan Wardak defeated Farah. Maidan Wardak set a target of 298 runs, powered by
Nasir Ahmad’s 101, Subhanullah's 71, Hanif’s 47, and Barkat Rahimi’s 43. For
Farah, Ehsan, Azizullah, and Izzatullah took 1 wicket each.
Farah managed to score only 165
runs in reply. Mustafa scored 55 and Haroon Shah scored 22 runs. For Maidan Wardak,
Haroon Afghan took 3 wickets, while Hamid Hotak and Mohammad Qaseem took 2
each. Nasir Ahmad Hashimi was named Player of the Match for his century.
At the Mis-e-Ainak Stadium in
Khost, Kunduz-A defeated Kapisa by 63 runs. Kunduz-A had set a target of 245
runs, with Masood Safi scoring 70, Sabir Bahrami 57, and Zaker Safi 36. For
Kapisa, Irfanullah Safi took 3, and Hazrat Wali took 2 wickets.
Chasing the target, Kapisa scored
only 181 runs. Mohammad Imran scored 73, and Hazrat Wali scored 22 runs. For Kunduz-A,
Sharifullah Riaz took 4 wickets and Khan Mohammad 3 wickets. Sharifullah Riaz was named
Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling, bagging 4 wickets for his team.
At the Najib Taraki Stadium in
Nangarhar, Balkh defeated Samangan. Balkh batted first and set a target of 308
runs, powered by Imran Mazari’s 68, Nasratullah Mansoor’s 52, Yousuf Alozai’s
50, and Omid Safi’s 43. For Samangan, Baseerullah and Yasar Mohammadzai took 3
wickets each, while Lais Lawang and Sharafat Momand took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Samangan scored 169
runs. Hamidullah scored 38, while Sharafat Momand and Shawkat scored 36 each.
For Balkh, Asadullah Matanni took 5 wickets, and Shafiullah took 2. Asadullah
Matanni was named Player of the Match for his fifer in the match.
At the Kandahar Cricket Stadium,
Kandahar defeated Uruzgan. Kandahar set a massive target of 365 runs, with
Naseebullah Popal scoring 143, Mustafa Amiri 72, Rahim Rahmani 48, and
Hikmatullah 31. For Uruzgan, Izatullah, Sediqullah, and Fazlullah took 1 wicket
each.
Uruzgan scored 186 in response
and lost by 178 runs. Zabiullah scored 51 and Basheer Ahmad 32. For Kandahar,
Ilyas Ahmad took 4 wickets, Nematullah 3, and Rahim Rahmani 2. Naseebullah
Popal was named Player of the Match for scoring a century for his team.
At Khost’s Rahmat Wali Masroor
Stadium, Khost defeated Takhar by 13 runs. Khost set a target of 299 runs, with
Abidullah Abid scoring 113, Nasir Ahmad 52, and Shamsur Rahman 48. For Takhar,
Rohullah, Rahmatullah, and Faridullah took 1 wicket each.
Takhar made a strong effort in
the chase, scoring 285 runs, with Suhail Ahmad’s 126 and Saleem Zarmati’s 102, but still lost by 13 runs. For Khost, Abdul Bari, Khalid Hasan, and Abidullah
Abid took 2 wickets each. Abidullah Abid, who scored a century for his team, Khost, was named Player of the Match.

following matches will take place on day 3 of the Wazir Akbar Khan Grade II
Provincial Tournament.
