As part of the ongoing Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade 1 Provincial T20 Tournament, two matches were played, while two others were abandoned due to rain.
In today’s first match at Ghazi
Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, Khost defeated Nangarhar-B by 12
runs. In another match at Najibullah Tarakai Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, ACB-XI
defeated the Paktika team by 7 wickets. Meanwhile, in Kandahar, the match
between Domestic-XI 2 and Chairman-XI, and at Kandahar Qureshi Cricket Ground,
the match between Kandahar A and Khost-B, could not be played due to rainfall.
In the match between Paktika and
ACB-XI, Paktika batted first but ACB-XI secured the victory by 7 wickets.
Paktika set a target of 119 runs in their allotted 20 overs, with Atta Mohammad
Zarmal scoring 36 and Mohibullah Zurmatai adding 28 runs. For ACB-XI, bowlers
Abuzar Safi and Ejaz-ul-Haq Noorzai each took 3 wickets.
ACB-XI chased down the 119-run
target in the 13th over with the loss of 3 wickets. Sediq Bacha scored 31 runs
and Subhan Ali added 28 runs. For Paktika, Mohammad Alam and Sohail took one
wicket each.
ACB-XI leg-spinner Abuzar Safi
was named Player of the Match for taking 3 wickets while conceding just 13
runs.
In the match between Khost and
Nangarhar-B, Khost claimed the win. Batting first, Khost set a target of 161
runs in 20 overs, with Saif Nangyal scoring an impressive 87 runs and Tahir
Sarwari contributing 31. For Nangarhar-B, Aftab Alam and Israr Shafaq each took
one wicket.
In reply, Nangarhar-B scored 142
runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Shoaib Zaman made 53 runs and Abid
Mohammadi scored 27. For Khost, bowler Abdullah Mohammadi took 2 wickets.
At the end of the match, Khost
opening batsman Saif Nangyal was named Player of the Match for his outstanding
87-run performance.
