Laghman, Kunduz, and Herat teams defeat their opponents on Day 16 of WAK Provincial Tournament

On the 15th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, three matches were played on day 15 across stadiums in Kandahar and Nangarhar. In these fixtures, Herat defeated Nimroz by 8 wickets, Laghman beat Kabul A by 7 wickets, and Kunduz claimed a 56-run victory over Sar-e-Pul.

On the 15th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, three matches were played on day 15 across stadiums in Kandahar and Nangarhar. In these fixtures, Herat defeated Nimroz by 8 wickets, Laghman beat Kabul A by 7 wickets, and Kunduz claimed a 56-run victory over Sar-e-Pul.

The first match of the day took place at the Quraishi Cricket Ground in Kandahar, where Herat secured an 8-wicket win against Nimroz. Batting first, Nimroz set a target of 186 runs, powered by Ainuddin Kakar’s 79 and Younus Khan Arman’s 43 runs. On the bowling side for Herat, Bakht Mohammad and Mohammad Ali took 3 wickets each, while Sayed Ahmad Quraishi claimed 2.

Herat successfully chased the target in 31 overs, losing only 2 wickets. In their batting lineup, Karim Khan scored 64, Qudratullah made 58, and Sayed Wali Rasooli added 52 runs. For Nimroz, Shafiullah and Younus Khan, Arman took one wicket each. Herat’s fast bowler, Bakht Mohammad, was named Player of the Match.

At Kandahar Cricket Stadium, Laghman defeated Kabul A. Kabul A batted first and set a target of 161 runs, with Waheedullah contributing 31 and Mohammad Arif scoring 20 runs. Laghman’s bowling attack performed strongly, with Barkatullah, Haibatullah, Gulzar Laghmani, and Asif Dilawar each taking 2 wickets.

Laghman successfully reached the target in the 37th over with 3 wickets down. Hanzala Niazi top-scored with 80, while Farid Hakimani added 39 runs. Kabul A’s bowlers Wahidullah Hamidi, Maseehullah, and Mohammad Arif claimed one wicket each. Laghman’s batsman, Hanzala Khan, was named Player of the Match.

In the match played at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, Kunduz defeated Sar-e-Pul by 56 runs. Kunduz batted first and posted 267 runs, powered by Jawad Khan’s 80, Nemat Khan’s 31, and Gul Noor Mughal’s 30 runs. For Sar-e-Pul, Mateen Khan took 3 wickets, while Salahuddin, Mohibullah, and Imran claimed 2 wickets each.

Chasing the target, Sar-e-Pul were bowled out for 210 runs. Their top scorers were Ebrahim Ebrahimkhel with 84 and Hameed Khan with 34 runs. Kunduz’s bowling was led by Imran Khan with an impressive 7 wickets, followed by Nasibullah with 2 wickets. Kunduz bowler Imran Khan was named Player of the Match.

Three other matches are scheduled for tomorrow, where Nangarhar A will face Nooristan at Ghazi Amanullah Khan Stadium in Nangarhar; Khost B will meet Kabul A at Kandahar Cricket Stadium; and Laghman will play against Nimroz at Quraishi Cricket Ground in Kandahar.
