Sar-e-Pul, Helmand, Kandahar A, Logar and Faryab defeat their opponents on Day 13 of the WAK Tournament

On the 13th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, five matches were held across three provinces. Helmand won by 9 wickets against Ghazni, Sar-e-Pul defeated Nooristan by 9 wickets, Logar beat Baghlan by 152 runs, Kandahar A defeated Kabul D by 10 runs and Faryab won by 6 runs against Parwan.

On the 13th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, five matches were held across three provinces. Helmand won by 9 wickets against Ghazni, Sar-e-Pul defeated Nooristan by 9 wickets, Logar beat Baghlan by 152 runs, Kandahar A defeated Kabul D by 10 runs and Faryab won by 6 runs against Parwan.

At the Quraishi Cricket Ground in Kandahar, Kandahar A defeated Kabul D and qualified for the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Grade I Provincial Tournament. Kandahar A batted first and set a target of 230 runs. Abdul Waris scored 103 and Shah Mohammad added 27. For Kabul D, Afzal Khan took 4 wickets, while Rohullah and Jumma Sultani claimed 2 wickets each.

In response, Kabul D scored 219 runs and lost by 10. Hamza scored 59 and Waqas Khan scored 31. In Kandahar A’s bowling attack, Ahmad Raaz took 3 wickets, while Imal Khan and Gul Mohammad Afghan took 2 each. Abdul Waris, the top scorer for Kandahar A, was named Player of the Match.

At the Kandahar Cricket Stadium, Helmand defeated Ghazni by 9 wickets. Ghazni had set a target of 182 runs. Mohibullah Jalalzai scored 64, Faisal Mubarez 44 and Omar Ziar 42. Among Helmand’s bowlers, Mustafa Sangar took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Seraj and Osman Abdal took 2 each.

Helmand easily chased the target in the 38th over, losing only one wicket. Hibatullah scored 72, Qudratullah made 61 and Sharifullah Barakzai added 41. Mustafa Sangar was named Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling spell of taking 4 wickets.

Meanwhile, at the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar, Sar-e-Pul defeated Nooristan by 9 wickets. Nooristan had set a target of 170 runs. Mohammad Faheem scored 32 and Bilal Majidi added 24. For Sar-e-Pul, Imran and Mateen took 3 wickets each, while Mohibullah and Haris claimed 2 wickets each.

Sar-e-Pul chased the target in 36 overs. Jamshed Khan scored an unbeaten 65, Ibrahim scored 58 and Hamid Khan added 39. For Nooristan, only Merajuddin took a wicket. Jamshed Khan was named Player of the Match for scoring highest 65 runs in the batting innings.

At the Mis-e-Ainak Cricket Stadium in Khost, Logar defeated Baghlan. Logar had set a massive target of 338 runs. Fazl-ul-Haq scored 92, Yusuf Khan 62, Rashid Stanikzai 51, Mohammad Amin 49 and Saber Hanif 37. For Faryab’s bowling side, Murtaza Ahmadzai took 2 wickets.

In response, Baghlan scored only 185 runs. Rahat Andar shone with 103 runs, but the rest of the team could not support him. Logar’s bowlers performed well, with Zahid Momand taking 5 wickets and Javid taking 2. Zahid Momand was named Player of the Match for his 5 wickets haul.

At the Rahmat Wali Masroor Cricket Stadium in Khost, Faryab defeated Parwan by 6 runs. Faryab had set a target of 265 runs. Ezzat Barakzai scored 57, Shah Mohammad 56, Aminullah 47 and Kamran Zadran 45. For Parwan, Abdul Saboor took 4 wickets.

Parwan came close during the chase, scoring 258 runs. Saifullah scored 82, Ezat Farooqi 46 and both Pamir Naseri and Reza Mohammad made 42 runs each. Among Faryab’s bowlers, Zaker Khan took 4 wickets, while Amin Khan and Mateen Zadran took 2 each. Zaker Khan was named Player of the Match for bagging 4 wickets.

For tomorrow, there will be only one match played during Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament where Nangarhar A will meet off Kunduz at Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Ground in Nangarhar.
