The Amo Sharks and the Speenghar Tigers have put on some terrific performances today, going past their opponents comprehensively to secure the top two spots in the table of the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola.
The first game of the day was played
between the Speenghar Tigers and the Bost Defenders, with the latter winning
the toss and opting to bowl first. The Speenghar Tigers, banking on
half-centuries from Ijaz Ahmadzai (64*) and Mohammad Akram (53) and valuable
contributions from Ismat Alam (42), posted a mammoth total of 219/6 runs on the
board in the first inning.
They later backed up their
exceptional batting effort with an even better bowling performance, as they
defended their total comfortably by 59 runs and registered their 2nd successive
victory in the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola.
Ibrahim Zadran (59) and Mohammad Asif (29) chipped in with some runs, but the
show was stolen by Rashid Khan (2/29) and Ismat Alam (2/15), whose
contributions helped the Speenghar Tigers to their second victory.
Ismat Alam was awarded the Player
of the Match award for his all-round performance of 42 runs and 2 wickets.
The afternoon game saw the Amo
Sharks facing the Mis-e-Ainak Knights, with the latter winning the toss and deciding
to bat first. After opting to bat first, the Mis-e-Ainak Knights posted 190/5
runs on the board in the first inning, with major contributions coming from
Afsar Zazai (44*), Emal Shaheen (42*), Khalid Taniwal (36) and Wafiullah
Tarakhil (21).
Things went right down to the
wire in the second inning. Still, Gulbadin Naib (32*) and the Amo Sharks,
banking on half-centuries from Faisal Khan Shinozada (71) and Shahidullah Kamal
(54), held their nerves to chase down 191 runs and register their third consecutive
victory in the e& Shpageeza Cricket League 2026, powered by SuperCola.
Faisal Khan Shinozada was named
Player of the Match for his outstanding performance with the bat.
Next up, the Band-e-Amir Dragons
are all set to meet the Bost Defenders in the morning match, followed by the
Speenghar Tigers taking on the Amo Sharks in the afternoon game tomorrow,
Sunday, July 5, at the same venue.
