The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) is pleased to announce that the second edition of the XBull Wakhan National T20 Cup 2025 will begin on June 28 in Kunduz Province.
This exciting tournament will feature four teams competing in a
double round-robin format, with a total of 12 exhilarating games set to be
played across 10 days. The participating
teams are the Maiwand Champions, Hindukush Strikers, Mahipar Stars, and the
Pamir Legends. Each team will face one another twice, and the top two teams
will advance to the Grand Finale on July 7.
Previously known as the Qosh Tepa National T20
Cup, last year’s event was aligned with promoting a major national development
project. This year, it has been renamed the Wakhan Corridor National T20 Cup to
spotlight the strategic importance of the Wakhan Corridor, which is a potential
trade route connecting Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan, and serves as a key
element in boosting regional economic cooperation.
Super Cola Beverages Manufacturing Company has
secured the title sponsorship rights for the event. Subsequently, this year’s
National T20 Cup event is set to be named as the “XBull Wakhan National T20 Cup
2025.”
The addition of the National T20 Cup has contributed to enriching Afghanistan's domestic cricket landscape. The ACB remains committed to taking the game to all parts of the country, nurturing emerging talents, and propelling Afghanistan's cricket to greater heights.
