In the seventh and eighth matches of the ongoing e& presents Mirwais Neka Three-Day Tournament, powered by Super Cola, the Bost regional team defeated Band-e-Amir by 24 runs at Helmand Cricket Ground. Meanwhile, the match between Speenghar and Amo regional teams, which started at Kandahar Cricket Ground, ended in a draw on the third day.
In the match between Bost and
Band-e-Amir, which began on Friday at Helmand Cricket Ground, Bost won the toss
and elected to bat first. They scored 261 runs in their first innings, with 108
runs from Faisal Shinozada and 27 from Zaitullah Shaheen. For Band-e-Amir,
Nasir Khan took 3 wickets, while Muslim Musa, Wahidullah, and Aqeel Khan picked
up 2 wickets each.
In response to Bost’s 261,
Band-e-Amir scored 250 runs, losing all wickets. Muslim Musa made 104 runs, and
Sohail Khan added 65. For Bost, Nasrat Nooristani took 4 wickets, and Zaitullah
Shaheen claimed 3.
In their second innings, Bost scored
209 runs for the loss of all wickets, setting a target of 221 runs. Faisal Shinozada
contributed 52 runs, Sabir Gurbaz scored 46, and Ali Ahmad added 32. For
Band-e-Amir, Nasir Khan, Wahidullah Zadran, and Aqeel Khan each took 3 wickets.
Chasing 221, Band-e-Amir were
bowled out for 196, losing the match by 24 runs. Muslim Musa scored 63, and
Usman Khan made 58. For Bost, Jalal Stanikzai took 4 wickets, and Nasrat Nooristani
picked up 2.
At the end of the match, Bost’s
batsman Faisal Shinozada was named Player of the Match for 108 in the first
innings and 52 in the second innings.
In the other match between Amo
and Speenghar, which also started on Friday at Kandahar Cricket Ground, the
game ended in a draw on the final day. Amo won the toss and chose to bowl
first. Speenghar scored 202 runs in their first innings, with Irshad Safi
making 67, Majid Alam 50, and Usman Nouri 39. For Amo, Khair Mohammad Alizai
took 3 wickets and Usman Younas took 2.
In reply, Amo scored 287 runs,
taking a lead of 85 runs. Javed Ahmadzai scored 115, Allah Noor Nasiri made 72,
and Kamal Khan added 39. For Speenghar, Khatir Stanikzai took 3 wickets, while
Qamar Shams and Nazifullah Amiri took 2 each.
In their second innings, Speenghar
scored 349 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. The match was declared a draw in the
final hour of the day. Usman Nouri scored 91, Reshad Stanikzai made 75, Irshad
Safi added 45, and Majid Alam contributed 42. For Amo, Roohullah Arab took 5
wickets, and Salam Khan claimed 2.
At the end of the match, Amo’s
opening batsman Javed Ahmadzai was named Player of the Match for his 115 runs.
It is worth mentioning that the last
two matches of the ongoing event will be played on Tuesday, where Mis-e-Ainak
will face Speenghar at Kandahar Cricket Ground, while Amo will take on
Band-e-Amir at Helmand Cricket Ground.
