On the 15th day of the Wazir Mohammad Akbar Khan Provincial Grade II Tournament, the teams of Laghman, Khost B, and Paktika achieved victories over Herat, Nimroz, and Nooristan, respectively
At the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Cricket Stadium, Paktika played against Nooristan
and defeated them by 8 wickets. Nooristan batted first and after losing all
their wickets, managed to score only 127 runs. In their batting lineup, Kamal
Khan Barakzai scored 20 runs and Noorullah scored 17. Meanwhile, for Paktika’s
bowling attack, Mohammad Alam took 3 wickets, and Samiullah, Zabiullah, and
Enayatullah each claimed 2 wickets.
Paktika successfully chased the target in the 24th over, securing a
comprehensive victory. For their batting side, Hafiz Zadran scored 52 runs,
Akbar Afghan 26 runs, and Zarmal 25 runs. On the Nooristan side, bowlers Kamal
Khan Barakzai and Haleem Nooristani took one wicket each. Mohammad Alam Khan,
the captain of Paktika, was named the best player of this match.
Meanwhile, at the Qureshi Cricket Ground in Kandahar, Khost B defeated
Nimroz by a large margin of 154 runs. Khost B batted first and set a target of
263 runs, with strong performances from Asghar Atal who scored 115 runs,
Jamshid Zadran with 85 runs, and Mohammadullah with 28 runs. For Nimroz,
Shafiullah managed to dismiss two players.
Nimroz, while chasing the target, could not reach the victory mark. They
were bowled out for 108 runs and suffered a heavy defeat. For their batting,
Mahmood Mukhlis scored 45 runs and Idris Ahmad 25 runs. On the other hand,
Khost B’s bowlers performed exceptionally well, leading their team to victory.
Hashim Khan took 4 wickets, Izatullah 3 wickets, and Haseebullah Lakanwal 2
wickets. Asghar Atal, captain of Khost B, was recognized as the best player of
the match for his outstanding century.
At the same time, the Kandahar Cricket Ground also hosted the teams of
Laghman and Herat, where Laghman succeeded in defeating their opponent. Laghman
batted first and set a target of 238 runs with contributions from Naveedullah
scoring 68 runs, Majbur Kharotai with 41 runs, and Shawkat Afghan with 37 runs.
For Herat’s bowling unit, Mohammad Ali took 3 wickets, and Rahmatullah and
Sayed Ahmad each claimed 2 wickets.
Herat then came out to bat but failed to reach the target. They lost all their wickets after scoring 179 runs and were defeated by 58 runs. In their batting lineup, Qudratullah scored 51 runs, Karim Khan 41 runs, and Mohammad Ali 33 runs. Alongside Laghman’s strong batting, their bowlers also performed very well, with Majbur Kharoti taking 5 wickets and Gulzar Laghmani taking 3 wickets. Majbur Kharoti was declared the best player of today’s match.
